Arsene Wenger fury at Arsenal fans
ARSENE WENGER has accused Arsenal fans of crushing his players with jeers on Saturday.
Furious supporters booed the team during the abysmal 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa.
Wenger said: “We have to rebuild the confidence of the team. There is a danger that the negativity can spread quickly through the squad because it’s a human activity multiplied by 25.”
Fans turned on Wenger at the Emirates, urging him to “Spend some f****** money”.
But he refused to accept the blame for his lack of signings, despite landing only Yaya Sanogo on a FREE from Auxerre.
Wenger added: “Our season will depend on how we respond to this loss.”
The Arsenal boss has been dealt a further blow with the news that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is sidelined with a damaged knee.
He will have scans today but is out of Wednesday’s clash at Fenerbahce and Saturday’s trip to Fulham.
Wenger confirmed: “It’s a bad injury.”
